Occasionally, if I leave it plugged in and reboot, the drive will show up in explorer, but only for a second before disappearing. The drive does not appear in the Disk Management view,Īnd appears under Device Manager as a USB Mass Storage device, if it shows at all.
I've tried everything I've come across (uninstalling USB drivers and rebooting, trying every USB port available, using the Seagate Media app, using the troubleshooter, etc.).
However, my computer hasn'tīeen recognizing the drive. I have a USB 3.0 to SATA connector cable that has worked in other cases. I recently upgraded to a new laptop (HP Envy), and I pulled the internal hard drive from my old computer with the intent to use it as an external drive. I realize that this issue has been raised multiple times, but none of the solutions offered by other threads have worked.
